RHODE ISLAND—On June 29, about 30 members from the Warwick congregation enjoyed a full day of conversation, sports and food at their annual church picnic. Embracing a sermon given the Sabbath before on encouragement by Preaching Elder Greg Nice, members encouraged one another and practiced sportsmanship through participation in softball, volleyball, canoeing and other activities throughout the day.

The first half of the day was filled with volleyball, Frisbee, beanbag toss and softball, followed by a cookout, relaxation and conversation. Reenergized, the group resumed games in the afternoon, and participated in water activities to help cool off.

“I think it was our best picnic ever,” John Gato said. “God really blessed us with a beautiful sunny, warm day with a nice breeze.”

Mike Burns agreed, saying, “It was the best picnic yet,” adding that one of his favorite parts of the day was abundant good conversation with the members of the congregation.
