WASHINGTON—The Vancouver Spokesman Club held a ladies event on May 18, with 35 in attendance, including 19 guests.

Club president Kia Kimes, who has been in club for over 30 years, esteemed it to be the best ladies event he had ever attended. He geared the topics questions toward the ladies, who actively participated in the session.

Assistant director Darren Verbout delivered the first-half evaluation and said he was impressed with the club members’ performance. Brethren conversed over finger-food-snacks during a half-hour intermission before five speakers delivered their remarks. Club director Gareth Fraser evaluated the second half, thanking the speakers for tailoring their messages toward the ladies. He also encouraged the men to show their appreciation to the ladies by dating them more frequently.

In his closing lecture, Mr. Fraser reminded brethren how Mr. Armstrong dedicated Mystery of the Ages to his wife, and that they were married 50 happy years. He read Isaiah 3:12, and focused on the Proverbs 31 wife.

“We must always be striving to reach greater heights and conquering greater summits,” he said.

Mr. Fraser mentioned that seven of the first 12 members of the Philadelphia Church of God were women, and that the Church is blessed to have virtuous women. He encouraged men to ask their wives for input more often and to make sure men and children are giving their wives the praise and honor they deserve.

“Being virtuous is understanding why God created man, and fulfilling our incredible human potential,” Mr. Fraser said.
