theTrumpet.com launches Internet ad campaign

July 21, 2009

EDMOND–The church began a summer advertising campaign June 5 to continue promoting its flagship news website, theTrumpet.com. The campaign is scheduled to run on several conservative Internet news sites through the end of August.

WorldNetDaily.com began displaying 4 million ads June 5 and so far the campaign is producing a very good response rate of .39 percent. Ads such as "Embracing Islam," "The End of the U.S.-Israel alliance," "Obama's Cairo Speech Will Shake the Nations" and "The Media's Cultic Devotion to Obama" began hitting just as U.S. President Barack Obama was beginning his historic trip to the Middle East.

On July 10, two additional conservative news web sites, Townhall.com and HumanEvents.com, began displaying "The Cult of Celebrity Worship," which advertised an article written by Trumpet Senior Editor Stephen Flurry in response to the death of pop singer Michael Jackson. Writers for Townhall.com and HumanEvents.com are often quoted on theTrumpet.com, so the marketing department decided to target their readers for the first time. The two sites will deliver a total of 2.5 million ad impressions over the duration of the campaign. So far, they are producing a healthy .27 percent and .47 percent response rate, respectively.

Plans for additional advertising in the U.S. and Australia are under consideration for the fall.
