Members Entertain at Wisconsin Social
Performance “melts” member to tears.

WISCONSIN—Seventy-eight Minnesota and Wisconsin pcg members, along with four guests from as far away as South Africa, met on Dec. 13, 2014, for a congregational social after services at the Best Western hotel in Tomah.

The day started with a sermonette about the significance of numbers in the Bible by deacon Bob Lilleboe, followed by a sermon by Pastor Cal Culpepper titled, “Being a Light in a Dark World.” Lunch was a potluck-style meal provided by the brethren. Associate Pastor Eric Anderson conducted the Bible study, in which he reviewed several characteristics of true Philadelphians.

After sundown, members participated in a lively and fast-paced entertainment night, hosted by emcee Bob Lilleboe. Twenty-eight people, some as young as 4 years old, put on 22 performances. The entertainers provided a wide variety of quality acts, including dances, comedy skits, a Muppet show and singing, as well as various pieces performed on piano, saxophone, guitar, violin, autoharp and accordion.

“The children were so excited to perform and did a great job,” Minnesota member Rhonda Yahnke said.

“Any time you put little kids up there to sing, it melts me right to tears. Wonderful World Tomorrow, here we come!” Wisconsin member Melissa Loewen said.

The jam-packed day was topped off with a buffet dinner. Dinner music, provided on accordion by Benjamin Tryba, added a unique element to the evening. The day ended with farewells, as most members returned to their respective homes.

“It made it a very special Sabbath to observe and share it with the ministry and multiple congregations,” deaconess Helen Lilleboe said.

The following day, members of the Horicon-Waconia Spokesman Club convened at the same venue for a workshop meeting, including a business session, tabletopics, speeches, evaluations and lectures by club directors Mr. Culpepper and Mr. Anderson.
