Members Entertain In Joburg
Songs included: “Count the Calories,” “All I Want” and “The Rain of Spain”

SOUTH AFRICA—About 35 members of the Johannesburg congregation of the Philadelphia Church of God gathered on July 18 for an evening of entertainment, including a traditional Afrikaans sing-along.

The children in the congregation all performed “School Is Closed,” and three pre-teen girls played piano solos. Other performances included traditional boeremusiek folk music, as well acts from whole families.

Prospective member Jarryd Henery said, “It was a blessing to see the variety of talent that God has given us on display. It was a wonderful evening spent as a spiritual family.”

“As expected, it was a laughter-filled family evening with good food and well-planned acts and music,” member Coen Bothma said.

To end the evening, everyone sang along to “We All Stand Together.”
