Johannesburg Children Participate in Amazing Mazes
Children’s activity tests logic, perseverance and patience.

SOUTH AFRICA—Fifteen members and children from the Johannesburg congregation of the Philadelphia Church of God visited Honeydew’s “A-maize-ing Mazes” on February 2 for a family activity consisting of puzzles and challenges.

Children and their parents in three groups went off in three different directions with a quiz sheet of challenges. Each team was to find five secret gardens, look for a variety of animals, and solve riddles before exiting them maze.

“The dead-ends were just terrible,” Paula Githembe (age 6) said. Her older sister Jane agreed, and said, “Finding the answers to the questions was really nice though.”

All three teams emerged from the maze simultaneously, but when the quizzes were graded, the “Survivors” team was declared the winner. There was a lot of laughter as the correct answers were revealed.

Eden Smith said, “It was very interesting and a really great day, except for those dreadful dead-ends.”
