New Music Building Hosts Recital and Open House
Dwight Armstrong Performing Arts Conservatory welcomes members from Church, local community.

EDMOND—Music enthusiasts from the Philadelphia Church of God and the local community attended an open house at the new Dwight Armstrong Performing Arts Conservatory on February 26. A total of 102 visitors from the greater Oklahoma City area attended, including supporters of the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation concert series.

The crowd listened to an 85-minute recital by Herbert W. Armstrong College piano faculty Ryan Malone and Mark Jenkins, who played solo pieces and duets on a recently purchased Model B Steinway and Sons grand piano in the facility’s auditorium. The recital featured Mozart and Beethoven sonatas and included four-hand pieces by Rachmaninoff, Brahms, and Bizet.

During the 15-minute intermission, guests toured the rest of the building, viewing the dance room, warm-up room, music classroom, and orchestra room. The Church broke ground on the building in December 2015 and it held its first day of Herbert W. Armstrong College and Imperial Academy classes on August 25, 2016.
