Floridians Set New Fundraising Record

FLORIDA—For the seventh year in a row, members from the Florida Central congregation of the Philadelphia Church of God served concessions during Tampa Bay Buccaneers home football games at Raymond James Stadium. From Sept. 25, 2016, through Jan. 1, 2017, an average of 17 volunteers operated a concession stand at each of the six home games.

During the season, the pcg concessions crew sold approximately 1,100 pressed Cuban sandwiches, 1,200 nacho platters, 500 bags of peanuts, 480 tubs of popcorn, 1,800 bottles of water, 1,600 cups of soda and 2,500 cups of beer. As in past years, member Mark Smith coordinated the effort with Local Church Elder David Miller.

“It’s a great opportunity to work together for a common goal and to have fun doing it,” Florida teen Daniel Cocomise said.

The volunteers set a fundraising record of $11,129.98 raised this season, most of which will be sent to Edmond in support of the headquarters Work.
