PCG Edmond Children Compete in Track Meet
Family-building activity included children from 2 to 12

EDMOND—Dozens of children from the Philadelphia Church of God’s Edmond headquarters congregation participated in a mini track meet on June 28. The 45 2-to-12-year-olds ran 400-meter, 100-meter and 40-yard sprints, long-jumped into a sandpit, leapt for distance from a standing position, and threw Frisbees and softballs for distance.

Organizer Harley Breth said parents spontaneously stepped in to assist with rolling softballs, supervising children, and raking the sandpit. Grandparents also came out to support the children.

“For the 400-meter run, there were parents running alongside their children and encouraging them to finish strong,” he said. “Seeing how active the parents were was a beautiful sight!”
