Harare Members Hold Winter Social
Tongue twisters, table topics and talking

ZIMBABWE—Members of the Harare congregation of the Philadelphia Church of God held a winter social on July 25.

Event organizer John Rudolph Jr. divided the congregation into five teams for a table topics session.

After warming up with tongue twisters, Rudolph began the questions round. He asked every team 20 questions, giving them a few seconds to answer. One of the questions was “When you think of home, what do you specifically think of?”

Afterward, Local Elder George Githembe spoke about the importance of government in a team setting as the congregation had just experienced.

Members ate soup and rolls after the table topics session. Later, they watched a movie about the life of Chris Gardner, The Pursuit of Happiness. Mr. Githembe asked members to watch the movie with the seven laws of success in mind.

Member Kennedy Manyepa said the movie brought out how Chris “applied the second law of success by educating himself.”

“Despite his tough situation, Chris continued to love and care for his child and strove to build a father-son relationship,” prospective member Leanne Gardner said.
