Washington Club Closes Season at Grand Ballroom
Venue offers a lesson of its own

WASHINGTON—More than 50 members of the Philadelphia Church of God’s Tigard Spokesman Club, including guests from the Gig Harbor congregation and Regional Director Brian Davis and his wife, turned out for the clubs end-of-year gala on July 12 in Centralia.

Club president Robert Brown opened the club by drawing spiritual parallels with the venue, the recently renovated Centralia Square Grand Ballroom. It was hidden and in ruins a couple of years ago, he said, but through the efforts of a husband and wife team, the space was restored to its former elegance.

“The story behind the husband and wife that fixed up the hotel made the event that much more incredible and inspiring to all of us,” member Daniel Ladenburg said.

Attendees heard about the history of Manasseh, tips for fellowship and “add humor.” Member Joshua Crocker said the speeches were captivating, while member Brian Young said, “The quality of the speeches … made this just a spectacular gala event.”
