EDMOND—Armstrong Auditorium received numerous compliments on TripAdvisor.com, a website where users rate, review and learn about travel destinations. Below are some of the reviews, shared by Armstrong International Cultural Foundation marketing director Shane Granger.
How can Armstrong Auditorium draw these international attractions? It must be a major task all these wonderful musicals, plays, dances and more. Edmond is lucky indeed.
The evening at the Armstrong Auditorium was exceptionally pleasant. I went to hear the Staatskapelle Weimar Symphony Orchestra, and the orchestra was wonderful. Even though I sat in the balcony, the sound was rich and full, as if I was on the main floor in front of the orchestra. I could also see everyone in the orchestra and it was enjoyable watching the musicians as they played. The students and staff were very congenial and went out of their way to be helpful. The venue was gorgeous and it was a pleasure to see patrons “dress” to match their surroundings. No jeans and flip flops were in evidence. I have already made plans with friends to return for more performances.
‘Outstanding Musical Offerings’
Armstrong Auditorium brings exceptional musical and dance talent to the north Oklahoma City metro area. The auditorium is beautiful and situated dramatically in the countryside. We have enjoyed concerts there for several years.
‘Amazing quality for a small price’
Besides being an impressive visual and acoustical facility, Armstrong presents equally impressive performances by world-renowned artists, many of which are rarely if ever seen in our area. And they do it with subsidies that keep the price of admission ridiculously low. For many reasons this is a facility not to be missed.
Armstrong, as always, great and the orchestra was fantastic. I am glad they came to the U.S. for a tour.
Music patrons of OKC and Edmond received a special musical treat in the Brahms program performed by the Staatskapelle Weimar orchestra and the violin soloist. All sections of the orchestra were outstanding and the dynamic conductor was most entertaining. All this was amplified by the auditorium’s extraordinary acoustics.
Excellent in every way … a memorable experience for my adult family of four. And don’t miss that delicious pie available upstairs during intermission.
The performance was beyond my expectations. However, there was a row of high school students without an adult sitting on the row in front of my husband and I. The young couple that sat just in front of us visited and cuddled the entire first half. I was so thankful that they didn’t return after intermission. It was so very distracting. So sad that they hadn’t been given appropriate instructions on how to behave at a concert such as this.
Excellent experience. Very glad to have the opportunity to attend. Will certainly renew our tickets for the next season.
