Thanksgiving is not fundamentally religious in character. It is a secular holiday of comparatively recent origin. The holidays that we should not keep are pagan in origin; there is nothing pagan about Thanksgiving. As a United States citizen, there is certainly nothing wrong with observing a day that upholds the Godly principle of gratitude. “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord” (Psalm 92:1).
