Ohio Congregations Determine the ‘Cream of the Crop’

OHIO—On January 6, around 100 Philadelphia Church of God members from the Niles, Buffalo and Morgantown congregations gathered for a family game night, featuring a corn hole tournament and assorted pickup games.

The tournament concluded with a neck-and-neck corn hole match between Regional Director Brian Davis and his wife, Gwen, versus local couple Matthew and Kathleen Castillo. Team Castillo came out triumphant in the end and were honored with trophies presented by Mr. Davis, proudly establishing them as the “cream of the crop.”

“The bean bag toss was a lot of fun, and the entire evening was very enjoyable. We’re looking forward to doing it again!” said local member Michael Strachan.

In addition to the games and tournament, the congregation indulged in an assortment of warm, homemade chilis with a full array of toppings, a contrast to the frosty evening outside. Local Elder Calvin Culpepper said, “It was great to see the brethren come together for a safe, friendly, fun-filled evening. The comradery these evenings provide is invaluable in bolstering the family of God and being able to continue in the good fight. In addition, I think these events get the brethren excited to be able to bring similar family-oriented activities to the world one day.”
